(MM#1) Catching Fire Cast - Sam Claflin as Finnick?

SAM CLAFLIN CAST AS FINNICK OVER ARMIE HAMMER, GARRETT HEDLUND, TAYLOR KITSCH AND TREVOR DONOVAN

This is Movie Monday, a new feature here that weekly updates you on book related movie news.
Here's Movie Monday take one :)

A lot of people went Hunger Games crazy when they read the books (and here we're pretty big fans too!) and even more joined us when the movie came out, and now we are all waiting for the release of the second movie in the Trilogy, Catching Fire.

Catching Fire is being directed by Francis Lawrence unlike The Hunger Games, which was directed by Gary Ross who also did screenplay with Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray. This time round Michael Arndt and Simon Beaufoy are doing screenplay.

This "Action/Adventure" movie is set for release 22 November 2013 (UK)

All right, now to what we really want to talk about... THE CAST.

It has been 'confirmed' that english actor Sam Claflin has been cast as the much loved character, Finnick Odair.

Clafin is known for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Snow White and the Huntsman, Untitled and The Lost Future.

It was reported that other names on Lionsgate shortlist included Armie Hammer - Mirror Mirror, Garrett Hedlund - On The Road,  Taylor Kitsch - Battleship, and Trevor Donovan - 90210. But it has apparently been 'confirmed' that Claflin has been chosen for the most wanted role in the Hunger Games cast.

Umm to be honest, we're not sure what to think about this... but maybe if you add a trident it'll clear it up...? We'll leave you with that...

I think Clafin will be a fine Finnick. Probably not my first choice but he is nothing to turn away from. hehe

    Thanks again, Christine x
